Merryspring Announces Its 2009 Membership Drive
and Annual Appeal

2009 promises to be a rewarding but challenging year for Merryspring. Our education program has blossomed, thanks to AmeriCorps Environmental Educator Rachel Potter, our volunteers, and last year's education fundraising contributors. It will be rewarding to provide eight continuous months of Tuesday talks, an expanded array of classes and workshops, and two new series of summer family programs (Nature Explorers and Outdoor Adventurers) aimed at connecting children with nature and the outdoors.

The challenge will be funding the park and programs through this economic downturn.

Merryspring provides an incredible amount of education and enjoyment to our community on an annual budget of only $125,000. Your membership contribution and participation in our fundraisers are crucial to Merryspring's continued existence. Without you, there would be no educational programs, no family events, no gardens, no fields, no trails, not even a driveway.

Please support Merryspring by joining or renewing your membership and enjoy the benefits membership provides. In addition to sharing in the stewardship of 66 acres of parkland open to all, members enjoy the following:

.....* Free admission to year-round lectures and programs
.....* Discounts on classes and workshops
.....* Email updates on classes, workshops, events and more
.....* Early admission to the Plant Sale and Holiday Bazaar
.....* 10% discount on most purchases
.....* Lending library privileges
.....* A subscription to Merryspring’s newsletter, “The Hawthorne”
.....* Reciprocal benefits at more than 200 gardens nationwide
